For Sale: 1972 Land Rover Series III RHD 88”

I don’t drive Shorty enough and so I’m open to selling her. She’s won awards in NM and been featured in magazines in the UK and US and is much loved. She deserves better though.

Shorty also comes with roof rack, tailgate, towing hitch, 2 extra wheels, the framework for soft-top, a fairly new canvas for soft-top, and a heavy big container of spares. Little rust, great condition of upholstery, free-wheeling front hubs, and only minor repairs to be done to body to make it shine.

Work includes (and records/receipts on file):

  • Engine rebuild (less than 2K miles on since)
  • Machine work on block
  • Clutch kit and system rebuilt (less than 2K miles)
  • Radiator/cooling system
  • BFG All Terrain Tires (less than 1K miles)
  • Brakes system, lines replaced
  • Transmission with transfer case
  • Ujoints
  • Exhaust system
  • Water pump
  • Temp gauge sender
  • Fan belt
  • Pressure plate
  • Engine mounts
  • Starter solenoid
  • Rear crank seal kit
  • Brakes flex hoses
  • Windscreen washer pump
  • Tie rod ends installed
  • Master cylinder/slave cylinder
  • Bearing assembly
  • Ball joints
  • Radiator hoses replaced
  • Radiator Gano filter
  • Thermostat
  • Electric fuel pump
  • Hub seal and bearing kits
  • Ignition switch
  • Window tracks
  • Brake shoe kit

NEEDS: Minor details like the brake lights shorted out a few weeks ago. The windscreen washer motor stopped, a bad connection? I’d replace the leaf springs if you want a higher ride. Some paintwork and detailing inside and out.
