Summer Writing Classes Online

Coming up this summer I have a few options for anyone interested in online writing courses. One of them started this week but I’ll add it here, just in case you want to jump on. Follow the links as they are all hosted on a variety of platforms. Let me know if you have any problems signing up though, I’m here. Thanks!

  1. Writing Unconventional Characters. In this 8 week course, we are building relatable yet unusual protagonists and narrators for your work in progress. My focus is mainly on novels as in the longer forms, we get to really develop characters that are substantial, have depth and hold our attention. May 21st, 6-8pm on Zoom. https://writers.com/course/writing-unconventional-characters
  2. Now What: From a Novel’s First Draft. You’ve finished the novel and don’t know how to revise it, make it the best that it can be. There are tons of ways you can do this but in this 4 week class I offer what has worked for me with editors from various publishing houses. Tried and true, you will leave with a LONG list (!) of ways to look at the novel with fresh eyes and even enjoy the process. Find out more here; https://www.sfcc.edu/continuing-education/ and look for the class number 7692. June 8th, 3-5pm on Zoom.
  3. Flash: Keeping Writing Short and Powerful. Another 4 week course that covers restraints, prompts, challenges, examples and tons of free-writing in class to test out these ideas. Class #7704. Weds 3-5pm. https://www.sfcc.edu/continuing-education/

You can also find short reels on YouTube with writing tips, creativity hacks, examples from my recent paintings and readings from STAY, a hybrid multi-media book of mine. Subscribe if so inclined! More content is scheduled for once a week with longer suggestions as well as the quick dip into my creative brain on a more sporadic but prolific timeline. https://www.youtube.com/@sleamsartandtravels

And lastly, FINALLY found the image that everyone loves as a bumper sticker. You might have seen me wear the tee shirt but I recently made it into a bumper sticker for Lex on her birthday. Since then, it’s become quite a regular request. So here it is in case you need a little happy puppy running across your car…

I think that’s it for now. Much appreciate you’re being here. Take care,
