About Sarah Leamy
Sarah Leamy, MFA, is a British-born novelist, artist, and creativity coach who has spent over thirty years moving between cultures and landscapes across Europe, Guatemala, Mexico, and rural New Mexico. Her fiction and art explore themes of belonging, resilience, and unconventional lives lived outside traditional gender roles. With a background in writing, publishing, and visual storytelling, she brings a rich understanding of creative life and community into every project she teaches, edits, or creates.
Author Voice & Themes
Sarah’s literary voice blends sparse, staccato prose with deep sensory landscapes, where nature itself becomes a character. Her novels reveal the tension between isolation and connection through the eyes of women on the margins—self-sufficient, haunted, and searching for home. Rejecting the male gaze and traditional expectations, Sarah’s work embraces authenticity, defiance, and tenderness, often with dogs as silent companions to the soul.
Her signature ideas include the understated honesty of ‘There’s that,’ exploring the hardscrabble truth of finding home in an unwelcome world, and creating visceral experiences of connection through landscape and animal companionship.
